I have a bloodshot eye. What should I do?

Assessment of this type of eye problem and others, including flashing lights and floaters or foreign bodies in the eye, are not covered by the NHS eye test. Private assessments may be available, at varying cost. If you feel there may be a serious problem with your eyes, you should see your doctor or go to A&E as soon as possible.
